چکیده

We report an electron paramagnetic resonance investigation of the grain size effects on the polaron transport in the paramagnetic regime of nanosized La2/3Ca1/3MnO3 manganites. The temperature dependences of the EPR integral intensity were analyzed in terms of spin–spin exchange interaction and small polaron hopping scenarios. The polaron activation energy decreases with the reduction of the grain size. A discussion is given concerning the factors which could explain the observed change.

Solution sol–gel processing and investigation of percolation threshold in La2=3Ca1=3MnO3:xSiO2 nanocomposite

The composites of La2=3Ca1=3MnO3:xSiO2 (0pxp0:40) have been synthesized by sol–gel technique to derive homogeneous nanocomposites. Si by virtue of its strong preference for tetrahedral site does not enter the perovskite lattice. The percolation threshold composition has been determined by resistivity measurements at around 90% volume fraction of LCMO. A detailed electrical, magnetic and magneto...

Room temperature magnetic-field manipulation of electrical polarization in multiferroic thin film composite BiFeO3/La2/3Ca1/3MnO3

The electrical polarization in an epitaxially BiFeO3 film grown on La2/3Ca1/3MnO3/SrTiO3 is observed to be enhanced greatly by a magnetic field at room temperature. The simultaneous ferromagnetic order and ferroelectric polarization shown by the BiFeO3 film causes the strong coupling of the magnetic and ferroelectric domains in the BiFeO3 films. It was proposed that the activation energy for th...
